Jesus Christ - what the hell have I done?  Yeah it's a litany that if I keep on saying, maybe I'll get an answer that makes any goddamn sense.  Right now I just want to keep the wheels in motion - keep moving and maybe we'll reach a point of objectivity from which some perspective can be wrought.

Stick to the facts - Venetta Davis is missing, probably because of me.  I didn't expect her to move on the info I fed her that quickly and without making reference back to me first but that's the problem with sources - you just can't control them. So she's obviously gone running off and fallen into some snakepit somewhere.  At least she had the sense to put some kind of safety net in place - NOPD Sgt and former flame Vanessa Thomson brought in the tape although what the hell use it is in terms of tracking her down, I have no idea.  It stars some lunatic who clearly knows more about Stenneau than the rest of us put together but who and where he is - that's still a mystery.

So what do we know?  That she was in California at least twice in the past few weeks - phone records and credit card receipts prove that.  She was clearly following some trails out there and we have the big Federal wheel spinning overtime to try and establish the what, where and why.  The lunatic also intimated that an innocent is on Death Row, put there by the same person that pulls Stenneau's strings - another one for our team to look into.  I went over ‘Silver Tongue' to SAC JD Himself get the case assigned and that's landed me in a whole world of shit - like I wasn't in it already with that asshole.

This whole town is getting crazier every day - it's affecting us all in different ways - not that all the side effects are necessarily unpleasant - just complicated.  The Stars are Right Jan 15^th or so the lunatic on the tape says- that's 7 weeks to get to the bottom of all this and it looks like Venetta is our key.  Instinct says find the guy on the tape and we find a world of trouble but I guess that's what we're here for...
