Just to clarify my situation, work has suddenly become hell for me (eg I was in all weekend which is unusual in my job) and for the next few weeks I won't really be in a position to run or play in a game.

I contacted Phil directly because I wanted to see if he could keep on GMing in the meantime as I felt bad letting you all down - it seems at least there will be a game to play in so I can not worry about this now and return back to the game when work lets up (should be in the next few weeks).

I can`t make it tonight or next week so I leave it to you guys to decide and I`ll come to whatever game you guys woud have decided on.

Sounds like a plan to me. If we get the action a bit further it will be easier to work in serpentina's character on the 22nd anyway.

i will continue with my 1940's campaign on the 15th. the following week we will be 2 characters short so serpentina you can join in then ...we may end up with 6 players

As someone who's in the 1940s campaign but wasn't in the Masks/Orient Express one, here's my feelings:

- If we're going to go with the 1940s campaign tomorrow I'm free to come along and take part.

- If someone is continuing the Masks/Orient Express campaign then I'd better sit out, since I've previously run one of those adventures myself so I'd have too much OOC knowledge.

- If someone is starting an entirely new campaign I'd be glad to play in it if there's space. But I suspect 1 day's notice is a bit too short for anyone to come up with something new.

I'll bring my dice to work tomorrow so if we end up going ahead with the 1940s campaign or an original game I'll have my stuff with me. Though it'd be good if we could settle on one plan or another ASAP so people know whether to turn up.

i just got a email from Darren saying he can't making it for a few weeks. He's asked me to run the game in his absence... I'm not sure who will see this and who only looks at the yahoo group.. i am not sure if Darren has let the Yahoo group know if he is cancelling his game and if they look at this or just that ... it is confusing.

the way i see it we have a few options

A)i can continue with last weeks game this week (luckily i prepared it all in a few nights ago) with who ever turns up tomorrow

Travis or Karloff could start a seperate game running when Darrens is supposed to run but then stop when he comes back

c)something else.

I am more than happy to continue with running the game i started.

Like i say i do not know if darren has let anyone else know he's not running tomorrow night..... confused ?? i am! let me know your thoughts on this .....but i will be there tomorrow night ready to run my game/be a character in someone elses game... YEEEEEKS!!

taxi driver sounds good, i'd say your a Houston taxi driver, we will incorporate your character into the story that way, you may have to wait until the group get of the train in houston before you start, but ill give you some inside knowledge that the group will find rather handy!!

Ideas I had were either playing a female 2-fisted cab driver or an Errol Flynn movie actor who often plays swashbucklers on the silver screen.

If I'm remembering right the characters we have so far are a muckraking journalist, a rich amnesiac (with skills erring towards the academic), a "legitimate businessman" and a forensic doctor... Probably down to doomtube to say what he thinks the party might need, seeing how he's looking after the character sheets.
