Arf Arf Arf Arf Arf wahooooooooo...
That's what I like about the Adam. He manages to capture the pure essence of Pierce so perfectly. Almost brings a tear to my eyes.

This week's journal full of cheerful frontier optimism courtesy of Agent Justin Pierce! Yes - car crashes, mysterious fires, black cars, Baron Samedi, Cletus and a load of piss and vinegar - all in this week's update of the 'Yellow King Blues'...

Hey, guys. Looks like Pierce was being Pierce again... Did we settle on a kick-off date for the Brit episode, in the end? My WE of 8-9 May has become available, if that helps...

Hello everyone, apologies for interrupting this topic!
Just would like to say that if there is space in this campaign, or any others, for CoC or D&D or pretty much any other game I would love to join. I have played a lot of D&D in the past and am a bit rusty, but I love Lovecraft, even have a Cthulhu tattoo! And would really love to join any game that would have me to get into that RPG vibe again. So apologies for intruding here but if anyone is gonna have a game and would like a new player, or if this one has got a space, please be in touch!
Thanks and I hope that was not too intrusive!

On that note - initial player archetypes:
1. SAS Zeus Officer
2. SAS Zeus Trooper
3. M15 Officer
4. ZEUS Talent
5. PISCES Agent
6. Rocket Scientist
A quick summary of anti-Mythos ops in the UK:
Has its roots in the 1800s with groups like The Golden Dawn but became organised in WW2 when SOE proved to Churchill the occult reality of Hitler's vision. SOE and OSS combined to thwart a major Nazi Thule operation involving a Deep One colony in the English Channel.
After WW2 ended OSS became the CIA and 280 SOE troops, Talents and Agents who had fought the Mythos/Occult plans of the Nazis were taken into MI6.
PISCES
Due to the high number of suicides and mysterious disappearances of SOE agents during the post war years, it was decided to compartmentalise (and to a degree quarantine) the remaining staff - this was Churchill's last order as PM in 1955. So PISCES was created - an ultra secret organisation known only to the PM and a few select individuals like the heads of MI5/MI6. PISCES operates to defend the UK and Commonwealth from U-Threats (U = Unknown) and is comprised of former soldiers, spies, scientists, specialists of all stripes and Talents. In the field, they carry MI5/6 identification.
WHAT'S A TALENT?
A Talent is an individual with 'special' abilities. Often a real psychic or medium or someone with a gift, Talents are rare and unusual. They are rarely deployed in the field, usually contributing to a PISCES team via live feed to an ops centre. PISCES 'recruits' Talents from all over the world.
ZEUS
PISCES was split up in the 1990s into a military arm and an investigative arm - the last (and unexplained) act of outgoing PM John Major. 22 ZEUS is entirely comprised of mentally strong SAS troopers drawn from the SAS's 3 Regiments (21st,22nd,23rd Special Air Service). Troopers are usually rotated on no more than a 6 month period of service during which time they can expect to be deployed at least once. Troopers that handle their deployment well can expect to be rotated through Zeus again the following year. ZEUS are unusually used to working with civilians and specialists.
PISCES vs ZEUS
A curious development of the split is an institutional distrust between the organisations. It is rumoured that PISCES have developed their own special forces troops and rarely call ZEUS into their teams now. This is because ZEUS command see most of ZEUS's D orders come from Downing Street and the MOD rather than from PISCES but could be a misunderstanding following operational restructure.
The ZEUS Squadron
The squadron contains approximately 30 men, commanded by a major divided into two troops and a small headquarters section. Troops usually consist of 12 men and each patrol within a troop consists of 6 men, with each man possessing a particular skill: signals, demolition, medic or linguist in addition to basic skills learned during the course of their training. A sniper is also attached to each troop. ZEUS's rotational structure usually means only 50% of a given patrol will be new to the Squadron and therefore individuals often have unorthodox skills, interests or specialisations e.g. Occult, sciences etc. The two troops combine troops with specialities from the SAS's four key disciplines:
Air troop — are experts in free fall parachuting, High Altitude-Low Opening (HALO) and High Altitude-High Opening (HAHO) techniques.
Boat troop — are specialists in maritime skills using scuba diving, kayaks and Rigid-hulled inflatable boats and often train with the Special Boat Service.
Mobility troop — are specialists in using vehicles and are experts in desert warfare. They are also trained in an advanced level of motor mechanics to fix any problem with their vehicles.
Mountain troop — are specialists in Arctic combat and survival, using specialist equipment such as skis, snowshoes and mountain climbing techniques.
ZEUS's usual rotation is a mix of these Troops who are often cross trained with A Troop deployed and B Troop in reserve

Oh yes, without any reservations. One of my (if not the) favourite crime writers.
Adam, can I send you email about my character for the new game? (as the forum message system is crap)

Thanks Mikko
I should clarify for the others that Detective Robicheaux and Sherriff Soileau are established characters in the crime novels of James Lee Burke which are all set in New Orleans and Louisiana.
I (and I guess Mikko) highly recommend them if you fancy a bit of hard boiled crime - he's a great writer. Best book to start with is 'Heavens Prisoners' or 'Dixie City Jam'.
