Coincidence finds the heroes all sorting out their day-to-day finances in Freedom City's largest bank.
It wasn't long before narrative imperative conjured up a robbery attempt.
A gang of machine gun armed masked men entered closely followed, and led, by a young man and woman.
"Rant and Rave are in the house" the man announced, "nobody move and no ones gets hurt".
Calling for everyone to hit the deck the faster heroes, Bloodthirst, Blue Bolt and Magni, obeyed; waiting to see how the raid would play out.
The robbers fanned out, encouraging, and in one case striking, the patrons to the floor. The man and woman strolled calmy towards a side section of the bank.
Hephaestus, interpreting the bank job as another hijack attempt on himself, immediately summoned his armour; it's pieces materialising about him into his intimidating form.
The sudden presence of a power suited hero obviously had shaken the robbers as two, who were less than 10 feet away, sprayed bullets in Hephaestus' general direction but every bullet missed.
Nano-man moved forward bravely attempting to shield civilians from the shoot out that had just begun.
Bloodthirst continued to bide his time when the Blue Bolt burst into full electrical form. He attracted a storm of bullets, flying straight through his non-physical body shattering the once pleasing glass office partitions behind him.
Suddenly everything in the bank went weird. Perspective became an enemy and the heroes visual senses started to play tricks on them.
Ignoring this turn of events, Magni inhaled deeply unleashing a powerful wind from his godly lungs. Office furniture and robbers were sent flying breaking the nice glass bank frontage.
Grabbing one of the stunned masked men in his powerful arms, Hephaestus stepped forward using his helpless victim as flail on the second. The human flail slumped unconscious the target of his body not bearing much better but ready to reply with his machine gun.
Looking for a quiet place to assume his hero outfit Nano-man's nanobots disassembled his body into a swarm, flying into the nearest empty office.
A crash echoed and the building shook as the rear of a security van smashed through the corner of the bank.
As Bloodthirst found the strange visual effects made the robbers difficult targets, the Blue Bolt discovered the van doors were locked.
Across the bank a low hum began as Rant and Rave disappeared from view.
A few seconds of stand off ensued, with the heroes unable to land a blow and bullets unable to hit or hurt the heroes.
At this time the doors of the security van flew open and a figure reminiscent of Hephaestus stepped out; not quite as shiny though.
Bloodthirst and Blue Bolt leapt to attack but found themselves ineffective.
Blasting the electrical form with heat beam it flew off in Hephaestus direction.
Magni charged past the robbers to find the safe room where Rant and Rave had headed. On the floor the melted remains of the thick vault door, the young couple stepping in to grab the loot.
The two power suits began to exchange blows when the transformed Nano-man emerged from across the lobby. Flying at Hephaestus' attacker the nanobots de-constructed the armour. In seconds only the head and arm remained.
Bloodthirst charged one of the armed men but the continued obscuring effect left him perforating the man's collar.
Confronting the young woman, Rave, Magni found her more nimble than he imagined. In return she confused his mind. Suddenly unsure what he was doing in a bank, where the walls kept moving, Magni charged and smashed his way out of the vault.
The Blue Bolt had tapped into the buildings power supply growing in size. Following Magni, he arrived to see the powerful man apparently aiding the robbers escape!
Rant, looking for a distraction to cover their escape, unleashed a powerful shout damaging a large section of the lobby roof. Seeing that the patrons beneath were about to be crushed, Hephaestus flew into support the crumbling ceiling. Slowly crawling out, Nano-man aided their escape.
Finally landing his bite attack, the victim went deathly white as their lifeforce empowered Bloodthirst.
Continuing his confused escape Magni flew a mile up into the air, while Rant, Rave and a couple of their thugs used the handy exit he'd kindly produced for them.
Giving chase the Blue Bolt caught up as the villians, now in a couple of vans, attempted their get away. Blasting the nearest, the electrics all blew stopping it in its tracks. Rant changed vans, still not on board as it pulled away. Another blast halted their last esacpe vehicle and blew Rant into the road.
Finally shaking off the mental fog that had confounded him, Magni decended at speed. The Blue Bolt continued his pursuit along the power line to appear on the van's roof balsting it again.
Magni arrived as two robbers from the first van attempted an escape on foot. Lifting one of the disabled vans he threw it across the street. Slamming into the men neither will be robbing any banks again.
Rant, shaking off the daze of electrocution, stood to find the place swarming with heroes; Bloodthirst and Nano-man having moved in to aprehend him.
Before he could act the Blue Bolt blasted again. This time his aim was off and Nano-man took the full blunt knocking him to the ground badly wounded. Deciding not to get bwteen the electric man and his victim, Rant unleashed a lethal sentance which knocked Bloodthirst unconcious and ran for the van which had recently flown.
Nano-man, his nanobots having completely healed him, intercepted Rant using his nanobots for the opposite purpose of causing him to pass out.
As the police finally arrived, Hephaestus finished off helping the raid victims; a distraught bank manager picking his way among the debris.
Nano-man returned to sweep up and actually healed the robbers which had been human flails.
Both heroes were confronted by officers of the law but quickly disappeared; in Hephaestus' case quite literally.
Needing a similar fast exist Bloodthirst allowed Magni to air lift him out, the Blue Bolt following.
After spending a short period of get to know you time the heros parted.
In between 2 days and 2 weeks each recieved a hand delivered invitation to meet at the Freedom Hall, home of the Freedom League; defenders of the city and Earth.
The heroes had won the day maybe not without casualties; but then you can't make an omelette and all that. Will the Freedom League welcome them or chastise them. Time will tell.
