You were sitting having a quiet beer surveying the city of Jerris, where you seemed to have found yourself for one reason or another. You are looking out over the merchants square, a prime place for commerce and the transport of all manner of goods.
The sun is hazy through the ash smog as you look up and see a large, triangular, flying castle move through your vision. It takes up position near the airship docks and then proceeds to rain all manner of things down on the city, including arrows, ballistae bolts, rocks and liquid fire with large burning humanoid shapes in it! The ship is flanked by smaller swifter airships of triangular shape, which seem to start zipping around themselves, firing weapons and swooping frequently.
The patrons in the bar start to panic, and a man shouts out that it’s the Theran’s coming to enslave everyone, causing everyone except yourself, and few other patrons, to start blindly running for the city gates.
Grey slowly finishes his beer and start to stride off towards one of the nearby smaller vessels, and as he seems like he knows what he is doing the others in the bar, Bod the Illusionist, Arahan the Weaponsmith and Siegfried the Archer follow after him. The Archer engages in conversation and they start to agree on a plan of attacking one of the smaller airships, known as Vedettes.
As you make it into the open area, both Arahan and Grey realise that they Therans were taking advantage of the confusion and panic to swoop outside the walls near the gates, trapping the fleeing citizens as they come through the chokepoint of the gates. They set off looking to engage the Therans and drive them off.
Bod the Windling uses a magical ability to boost his voice to the volume of a bellow, where he starts to instruct the people fleeing that they are going the wrong way, and that danger lies on the opposite sides of the gates. This works spectacularly as many of the citizens turn back away from the gates, unfortunately it makes it harder for the 3 others to break through the crowd to the other side.
As the sound of people screaming and the thump of clubs reached Arahan, Siegfried and Grey they charged into the mosh pit to break through. As Grey is of a greater size and strength he managed to break through first while Arahan and Siegfried received a little light stomping. Grey started to attack one nearby fighter wielding a net. Grey lashed out and scored a quick hit before performing an Air Dance to boost his speed and land two telling blows on the Theran, knocking him out.
At this time Arahan and Siegfried had broken through and were looking to engage. Arahan had turned to his shortbow, and was pinning his opponent back with well placed shots, some of them wounding in a way that would cause the injured to drop to the ground.
Siegfried whipped out his Hand Axe and started cutting at will, severely wounding his opponent. Then following up with a broad sweep to knock him out, after taking a glancing blow from him.
Grey tries to leap up to the airship, sitting low just above the ground and behind the wall of slavers, but failed miserably only managing to land with another combatant right in front of him. The Theran swirls the net and misses badly, leaving himself open from two wounding blows from Grey, followed by a Swift Kick to send him reeling into unconsciousness.
The Therans do not like aggression shown by the party and look to flee back to the airship and retreat. Bod the Windling flies down from the wall speaking in the tongues of magick, and casts a spell of image displacement on Grey. The heroes look across at each other, give a slight nod and press their advantage charging the airship.
As the airship starts to take off, rapidly gaining height Grey performs a Great Leap, landing on the railing. Looking down he can see the surprised faces of the Theran Slavers, and see the slaves powering the ship shackled up under the deck. Arahan and Siegfried both charge and leap as well, clinging perilously to the railing while the Windling relies on his own methods of locomotion and uses his wings to fly after the ship.
