The World of London Below
The game is set after the events of the book.
The Lady Door is continuing the work of her father, Lord Portico, in trying to unite London Below into a self contained government rather than loosely allied feudal pockets. Much like her father, this work is not endearing her to the myriad of tribes that make up London Below.
The Baron and The Earl are both declining. Time is remorseless and is slowly eroding their impressions in London Below. A weak ruler over a powerful dominion is attracting ambitious scavengers.
The royal line of The Ravens has been all but eradicated; all that is left is a young and untried ruler who seems focused on retribution rather than stabilising her position.
The Ringmaster of Oxford Circus is a sadistic narcissist who seems to be gathering the rabid and desperate beneath his circus tent. His games and entertainments are enough to chill any Darklings that venture beneath his tent. The Ringmaster's fascination with Night's Bridge continues, he can be seen sitting on a stool muttering to the seething desolation that emanates from the bridge. He has yet to cross the bridge.
A great weight has been lifted from the shoulders of the Black Friars. No longer guardians of the key, or guards over the place of Islington’s rest, they are free to do as they wish. Without their sacred trust, they walk the Underside aimlessly, giving aid to those they can.
The Parliament of Dogs, the Royal House of Cats and The Rats continue their ongoing war. None are willing to side with another; keeping their ineffectual war in equilibrium.
The Sewer Folk are retreating further into the sewers of London Below. Less and less are seen at the Floating Market.
Oblivious to all, Sister Saturday and The Darklings focus solely on their own hedonistic gratifications. Closing Camden Town to anyone who refuses to enter into their pleasureable delirium.
The Trolls and Dwarves rumble about nature abhoring a vacuum. Clapton and Curzon, leaders of the latter and former respectively, have been seen entering the Royal Courts of Justice recently and spending long hours locked in a sealed room with Harrow.
