AFTER ACTION REPORT: The Masque of the Plague Ship

Thought for the day: The only true fear is of dying with your duty not done.

Your Excellency,
The Chartered Trader Carnivale travels on a 15 year loop around the systems of the sector. After visiting the border world of Graf Magna (said to be ork-infested) plagues of growing intensity broke out at each subsequent port of call. Interrogator Imperatrix directed us to take passage on the Carnivale to identify and investigate possible heretic cult activity.
To do this effectively we assumed the identities of Lord and Lady Adremovich of House Adremovich of Melphi with myself as Zane, their advisor, and saught to infiltrate the Masquerade of the Carnivale, (as the crew style themselves). These crewmembers wear masks to distinguish their necessary ranks and castes. It was this information that proved key to the detection and infiltration of the cult. After a visit to a "black hole", (as your excellency knows, this is an unpowered but alas, not untenanted part of the ship) Ferrus was stricken with some sort of foul disease that rendered him unable to fight. Subsequently Atella was able to identify the key chain of transmitting the disease off-ship. The "entertainer" or "clown" cast of the ship did not wear masks! They were also the only personnel to leave the ship which therefore meant the only people capable of spreading the plague. I identified the unusual nature of the Imperial Creed that was being preached on board ship and after Ferrus and Atella were unable to successfully infiltrate the cult, I did so.
Having being abducted by the cult and my death reported to my team members, I discovered that on deck 777 was some sort of unholy Black Cathedral where a giant, malformed, diseased psyker preached heresy and perversion to adoring heretics. I did not care to follow the nature of the cult as I had been injected with some horrid serum. However, I was able to locate the exact number and position of the cultists, so after my escape with Atella's assistance, we were able to provide Investigator Imperatrix with all the information she needed to successfully purge the cult from the ship.
I remain, your most obedient and attentive servant,
Jado Thrinn

AFTER ACTION REPORT: The Ghosts of Prow IV
[REPORT BEGINS]]
Thought for the day: Kill the alien before it can speak its lies.

Your Excellency,
As you will recall, you sent your loyal operatives, myself, Arbitrator Atella, Ferrus, and our new tech-priest ally, Constantine, to the world of Prow IV. There had been reports of bizarre psychic activity amongst the imperial guard regiment waging war on rebels there, reports of the dead not lying quiet. As Prow IV is an important source of the radioactive materials used in star drives, it was essential that the action against the mutant rebels be allowed to continue unhindered so we took passage with Rogue Trader Hastur Volt on his ship, RTV Imperator Lux to meet with our contact Commissar Leven Jat of the Hantil 29th.
The situation there was grave; for over four years the Hantil 29th had been suppressing the Mutant scum but 2 and a half years ago, strange reports had begun to filter back to command, of the Imperial dead rising and walking amongst the living. There had been attempts to sabotage the space dock and the Department Munitorium had suffered poltergeist activity.
The most disturbing news was that the rates of this bizarre psychic activity were increasing but that the guardsmen were
pleased to see their departed fellows. The increase in psychic activity was marked by the mysterious death of Lord Commander Sun Zen who was reported of dying of natural causes at a ridiculously young age. His successor Lrd-Cmdr Mal Macoo had adopted a new set of tactics, rather than engage the mutant rebels in a war of maneuvre, he preferred to attempt to overwhelm them with force, a strategy not notably more successful than maneuvre and certainly more intensive of supplies and casualties.
This proved key to breaking the case, the quartermaster Major-Domo Austien Himano had contracted with Rogue Trader Captain Ingo Blunt of RTV The Wanderer to remove the bodies of the dead back to Hantil (regimental ancestor worship being an acceptable cult of Hantil 29th [REF: ECCLESIARCHY REPORT 546465422/55461/55522HANTI]. However, the nervousness he showed when we investigated the poltergeist activity caused us to take him in for interrogation. It was swiftly uncovered that Ingo Blunt had bribed him for the resupply contract. It swiftly became apparent that Blunt was
not returning the bodies to Hantil, but was disposing of them in some other way. Tech-Priest Constantine immediately showed his unnatural insight into the minds of Heretics and Xenos by suggesting that Blunt was trading our guardsmens bodies to Xenos in exchange for perverted alien technology.
Blunt was bought in for questioning by Arbitrator Atella and he immediately revealed his hand as a filthy Xenos-phile by summoning a variety of horrible creatures using some sort of Xenos-tech. I purged him as quickly as possible, but alas the damage had been done and after a brief struggle with the creatures who were no match for the wrath of the Holy Inquisition, we deemed it prudent to recover the Xenos technology artefacts and withdraw to orbit allowing the Basiliks of the Hantil 29th to purge the base of Xenos taint.
Rogue Trader Hastur Volt proved invaluable in disabling Blunt's ship and preventing the escape of the crew. It is recommended that the Ordos Xenos take on the investigation of backtracking from The Wanderers flight logs and purging the Xenos filth from their homeworld.
