Hey all

Just thought I would share the good news that we won a prize in the Dragon's Game Journals competition for this campaign. We have won a DVD of vampire adventures 'The Midnight Chronicles' which is winging its way to my work address this week and will be available for circulation among you all on request.

Thanks for playing and voting if you did so -without you guys, no adventures!

Gotcha - one thing though - there are no official 'reports' except fabricated ones - Devereux is billing this to the suits as a surveillance on a suspected Stenneau operation that has so far elicited no leads. No one was seriously hurt or killed so this paperwork will fly through and no bureau ammo was used either thanks to the 100 round drums so the events of the early morning of Nov 1 can be quietly covered up - unless Pierce wants to make an issue of it of course. By the way, Adam has some interesting info on Devereux which he'll reveal to Pierce when he's ready that he says is likely to put her on admin leave, start an OPR investigation etc. He tells you to bide your time but you have a sinking feeling that DG may be looking at recruiting her...

Devereux is not insensitive to Frost's condition btw but low SAN = weird behaviour, twitches, short temper, obsessive compulsiveness - of course, Fox Mulder was accused of the same things in the X-Files!

Is it boys vs girls? Parisi, Pierce and Frost vs Devereux, Chance and Sommers? The plot thickens like the local gumbo!

Also Pierce adds to his report that without Frosts 'winch' idea, himself and Devereux may not have made it out alive, and for that reason he feels he owes him enough that he will be 'looked after' (whatever that means) in a positive way

Thanks gang - some interesting thoughts and it looks like 'Alice Bourne' gets the best deal - at least for now. There will be about 2 weeks of game time lag between the end of this scenario and the start of the next as the Feds regroup for Stenneau, so hold on to those thoughts! Last words go to Chance...

Re:Delta Green - Lost, Get Back, Yellow Sign Boogie 2 Years, 7 Months ago Current XP: 6
As for Frost, he was very shaken after that experience but at the same time, he made it and helped save the city so for that he feels immensely proud and strengthened. He has concerns that he is not strong enough mentally to take on the fight against king in yellow, but at the same time feels like to end now he would at be first worried for the safety of new orleans (and potentially the rest of the country) and secondly that he has failed in the most difficult challenge of his career. He confides in Pierce (whom he sees as a 'mentor') who is as concerned for his mental sanity as Devereux but at the same time doesn't feel that he is a complete dead loss and perhaps with the right 'help', may make it through as a strong candidate. He believes that frost should 'disappear' for a time and sends him to the himalayas (or some such remote destination) in true christian bale/batman style for complete 'cleansing' of mind and spirit, whilst receiving some hard core old style martial arts training. The down side however is we don't know how long this would take, and whether he will be ready in time for the final battle only time will tell...

In the mean time Pierce wishes to file his own report on the nights events to possibly build up a case against devereux and her leadership abilities (he may have eyes on the job himself or he is just concerned for the safety of the team/future missions) and believes she has shown on repeated occasions under pressure, she often makes snap decisions that put herself and sometimes other members of the team in direct danger. He also wishes to assist frost's case to perhaps get him 're-assigned' as above, rather than pushed out but the final details of his 're-assignment' would only be of knowledge to Pierce and Frost.

Hmm well what does Alice have planned.

Can she go and get her car from Tabetha, take the remaining money, some handgun ammo, and her hand guns from her "storage unit" in Baton Rouge and then run. Nick can tell MJ whatever he wants, they are not going to let her walk away and she definitely doesn't want to go back there. She is going to find a way out of the states, drive (not in her BMW, but in another car that she buys with cash from a dealer) as far as key west, then over pay some one to get the Cayman Islands – deposit her money and move to a hot country living on the beach as a bum. She has given Peirce a way to contact her – but its not a telephone and will always take her a couple of days to respond – if she wants to respond.

That sounds like a lovely life.

Re:Delta Green - Lost, Get Back, Yellow Sign Boogie 2 Years, 7 Months ago Current XP: 6
Adam,

Nice finale - not as much carnage (on our side) as I had expected, but hey presto - sometimes things are allowed to go our way.

I thought the planning went quite well, and so did the execution - Gareth's idea with the winch probably saved Pierce's (and Deveraux's) bacon. Kudos to "Alice" and Mr. Barrett. Mr. Barrett is a close and dear friend of us now.

In the immediate aftermath, Nick will tie up some loose ends, including:
1) Returning the rented equipment (and recover the deposits, in particular the one on the house), and collect the procured equipment - in particular the 100-round clips (always handy).
2) Pay Sergei for services rendered, and hire him to alter inventory records at Blueboy's base to make as sure as humanbly possible that Blueboy is in the clear.
3) If "Agent Johnson" desires, Nick can try and mediate with MJ-12 to let her off the hook ("Look, she's been out of the way for three years - most of what she knows that would one day have been harmful is out of date now - and, yes, of course, we'll keep an eye on her"; hey, presto - new recruit!)
4) Try and contact the SAS guys to see if they would be available as "(sub)contractors" for DG in the future, maybe a more permanent arrangement?
5) Send Don DeLillo (subtle that one, very subtle...) back to Ferino with thanks.
6) Do we know if Dr Shine was involved in the ritual? If he was, there may be a good occasion for someone to raid his humble manor to see if there's any juicy stuff to be had (tomes, information in general), and presto, too, before the bugger comes back from the dead.
7) I presume that now we return Tabitha to her parents?
8) A debriefing from Deveraux about what she saw down there would also be very nice - to give us an idea of the casualties inflicted, for example.

Nick will return to NY - after all, he's just gotten appointed to his new posting there, and the first thing he does is take two entire bloody weeks off to go galivanting in New Orleans. Depending on what the plans are with DG, he may take in on himself to start preparing some supply depots and safehouses in the area of New Orleans (on that note - what are the chances of, ahem, requisitioning "Agent Johnson's" private box in Baton Rouge and have it moved elsewhere (for DG purposes, of course). He will make additional efforts to try and find sources of funding for DG. He will certainly try and fabricate reasons for him to go to the Big Easy on "official" business (something to do with shipping, probably).

That's it, for the moment.

Thanks all for a great finale last night - I hope you all had as much fun playing as I did running.

So that I can write up the last journal entry for now can I get a feel for everyone's next steps? Obviously, the FBI guys have to go back to work but what about Dottie and Nick? Frost is also quite on the edge with rage issues (amongst other mental problems) and in Devereux's opinion should go on indefinite medical leave (this is probably as good as being fired, just takes longer). Whether she tells the bosses of course we'll find out next time but how does Frost feel? Has his exposure to the Mythos become an itch he has to scratch or has he become its worst enemy? As for DG, they're establishing a presence in the region with a particular focus on Stenneau and the next problem fast approaching on the horizon - the ghost city and the King in Yellow...

Any thoughts on the future for Pierce, Parisi, Sommers etc also welcome.

Be seeing you

Re:Delta Green - Lost, Get Back, Yellow Sign Boogie 2 Years, 7 Months ago Current XP: 6
I was thinking about the getting out quickly bat-rope idea and after a little digging realised its not entirely technically possible, however, there are such things as grappling guns commercially available, but then the problem seems to be then how do you get up quick enough? Then thinking about it a bit more thought why not a portable winch? Those babys can fly, potentially we might get injured on the way up if we bump into something, but its a hellova lot better than death. I figure we can carry or drag one along and set it up topside possibly using the rail tracks to carry/and or secure/move it and then use it as a quick means of escape

airwinches.co.uk/offshoreair.htm

it shows here that there are some that can reach speeds of 78meters per minute!

I definitely think its a viable solution, as if team mongoose was not able to carry it (the ones on the link can be up to 1000kg!) then the vehicle we get at the front gate could carry it and make a bee line for the rail terminal, providing it makes it we can use that to operate the winch/stabilise the weight.

Yo, Misses M!

I imagine that it is a bit confusing, 'cause a lot of the elements are based on last week's reconnaissance. If Alice is willing to go along, then fine! She featured heavily in the planning, because a) she's the best shot among all the PCs, and b) she's got the rocket launchers, which feature heavily in Barnard's plans. Besides, it's a first draft, work-in-progress. We'll have about an hour (real life) to finalize, before the clock starts ticking.

Barnard may be with team Mongoose - he's not into suicide missions, so we're doing our best to avoid making it a one-way mission. It will need to be verrrrry closely timed, though.

I'll bring a hardcopy of the blueprint of Operation Over-Shoggoth-Lord to the session, 'cause I think that if we don't have a good plan, we'll all go Marty's way.

U have to say, i have read all the posts and I am more than a little confused. I got that we will be trying to go in 2-3 teams, and that mongoose would have a little chance of not coming out - or at least that is how it sounds. Is it okay if I just go along with what is decided? I will try to put input in, but I am lost - sorry. I can be in any team - but for Alice I advise a team that has to shoot alot - cuz she is good at it.

see you tuesday!

Re:Delta Green - Lost, Get Back, Yellow Sign Boogie 2 Years, 8 Months ago Current XP: 11
Some very good ideas here in forward planning - well done. There will be spoof points awarded on Tuesday.

Just to answer a couple of points raised:

1. Yes you can tripod the Laser Designator and jury rig it so that it is on - it works off an internal battery which will not expire in the time frame you're talking about. BROOKS will point out however that there is no certainty about how good proto-shog vision is - i.e. they may be able to see the laser beam.

2. Gates - gates must have a beginning and an end. Tabitha was only able to open the Carcosan gate as it was already there.

Finally, a general piece of advice from ADAM - all DG ops should be stealthy until they're not at which point it is terminate with extreme prejudice!

I have posted a Word version of Barnard's plan in the resources section under the Delta Green folder so that you can print off or tweak etc as you wish.

Be seeing you
